My perpetual father’s day wish list

So how’d you go on Fathers Day?

Did you get what you wanted? Did you give your dad what he wanted?

Being a huge fan of surrealist master Salvador Dali, the receipt of tickets to the Surrealism exhibition currently underway at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA here in Brissy is the exclusive venue for this event) was gratefully received. As to were the ‘socks & chocs’ pack, the handmade cards, the foot / lip / thumb prints and a myriad of cool key rings from the Team Mahoney boys!

I don’t know about you but I have a perpetual fathers day wish list. For that matter, any of these can be gifted to me ANY day – I don’t stand on ceremony that much.

Now, there’s no expectation attached to this list – I’m just putting it out there. But, if anyone feels so inclined to aid in the realisation of the list then contributions will, of course, be gratefully accepted (how could I not enable you to bless me?).

So here it is (in no particular order)…

The Impossible Cool print collection. Classically cool shots of ten classically cool people. Nothing more needs to be said.

The dunhill Biometric Wallet (yeah baby!). $895 worth of sheer engineering luxury! Here’s the sales blurb in case you need convincing:

Virtually indestructible, the dunhill Biometric Wallet will open only with touch of your fingerprint. It can be linked via Bluetooth to the owner’s mobile phone – sounding an alarm if the two are separated by more than 5 metres!  This provides a brilliant warning if either the phone or wallet is stolen or misplaced. The exterior of the wallet is constructed from highly durable carbon fibre that will resist all but the most concerted effort to open it, while the interior features a luxurious leather credit card holder and a strong stainless steel money clip.

I’ve been a long-time admirer of German automotive engineering. With a drive away price nearing $375,000 an Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro would fit sweetly in my garage.

If an entire luxury sports car is out of your price range, then how about a driving experience? For a little under $10K one can enjoy an BMW M3 exploring the unlimited speed of the German autobahn networks for a fortnight (complete with accommodation in 5 star luxury).

Still on the car theme but a little closer to home, a full day Lamborghini Gallardo experience in Melbourne is available for under $1000. Feel the power of the 5 litre V10, changing gears with the F1 style paddle shift….bring it!

Consider this – sitting amongst 90,000 passionate football supporters at the ‘home of football’, Wembley Stadium, for a UEFA Champions League final… Package tours go from Australia for under $7,000. Go Barca!

Or failing any of the above, how about a Salvador Dali original?

What’s on your wish list?

Let Hope Rise!!
