Break free from limitations

You can hear it in our conversations – it’s not the tone of what we say it is, in fact, the words we use. Words that restrict us, words that shrink our world, words that sell us short.

Before long this can become the ‘norm’ reinforced by the inevitable challenge and disappointment that life throws at us. We will also have allies eager to agree and reinforce, thereby creating a larger cage now holding us and our friends.

If we’re content to live as a caged bird, relying on others to feed and protect us, and living according to someone else’s will then we can stop now. If, however, we’re keen to explore beyond the cage, to stretch our wings then we must change what we say – we must speak life: words that release us, words that expand our world, words that reinforce our potential.

This won’t present a challenge-free world – I can guarantee we will continue to face obstacles but we will also continue to be afforded opportunities. By reshaping our language, we can however remove our self-imposed limitations.

LET HOPE RISE

AMEN!! I’ve been feeling the same way these past few days and I agree with the message of this post 100%.

    1. Thanks for the encouragement Brian. I reckon it’s easy for us to accept the caged bird lifestyle but sooner or later we’ll become naturally dissatisifed so if we’re aware of it, then we can be proactive in managing it. Cheers!
